Overview

Gupt Khal Expedition Plans

The starting point of the Gupt Khal Trek, which is located in the Chamoli region of Uttarakhand, is 5,807 metres above sea level. Because these treks are a spectacular excursion in their own right, they are highly popular and hidden treks in the Himalayas, which is one of the reasons why they are regarded to be so unique and distinctive. Here, we have the meaning of the Gupt, about which there is not much information, and the Khal, which means the drain and refers to anything that carries you from one end to the other border or direction, is defined. In addition, I would like to inform you that my older brother, Mr. Vinod Panwar, as well as Pradeep from Uttarkashi, Porters, and Cooks, etc., have completed the Gupt Khal trek five times between them thus far. The Gupt Khal trip is one of the most challenging treks in Uttarakhand. This journey can only be completed by experienced trekkers who are both capable and informed about high altitude treks like the Gupta Khal.

Itinerary Details

  • Day 1- Drive from Rishikesh to Joshimath

After you have breakfast at 7:00 in the morning, get started on your day. A quick diversion to Devprayag to see the sunrise over the confluence of the Ganges and the Yamuna rivers. Continue driving till you reach Rudraprayag and Shivanandi, which are the destinations of our lunch break. Following lunch, we will continue our journey along the Alaknanda River until we reach Birahi, at which point we will begin our ascent to Joshimath. Remain at the hotel.

  • Day 2- From Joshimath to Govindghat to Ghangahria trek

After breakfast, go on the car ride that will take you to Govindghat. The paved path first ascends precipitously and then travels gently along the valley floor of the Laxman Ganga. Arrive at Ghanghria in the evening. Staying at the guest home and having supper there.

  • Day 3- From Ghanghria to Valley of flowers trek to tiprakharak

We will begin our trek immediately after breakfast. The trail will soon come to a fork, where travellers may choose between going to Hemkund or the Valley of Flowers. Spend your time in the Valley of Flowers discovering and appreciating the many different kinds of flowers that grow there. At Bamnidhaur, the path takes a bend to the north-east, and from there it continues straight along a river. At the bottom of the Valley of Flowers we set up camp and had a late lunch. During the evening, go on a more in-depth exploration of the valley. Camping.

  • Day 4- The Valley of Flowers to Tiprakharak to Bhyundar Khal Base

Get an early start on the day to successfully negotiate the challenging ascent to Bhyunder Khal Base camp. A glacier confluence marks the beginning of the route's subsequent shift to the north. As you make your way up the steep and rocky ascent, your objective should be to reach the platform at the foot of the Bhyunder Khal. It is possible to see the Khal while looking straight east. Lunch in a bag eaten while travelling in the centre of the glacier. Camping Bhundar khal base.

  • Day 5- Extra day or rest day

This day will be reserved for reconnaissance (by our guides), while the rest of the team will acclimatise and explore the upper regions of the lovely Valley of Flowers.

  • Day 6- From Bhyunder base to Bhyunder Khal to north base

We are going to have an early start at 6:00 in the morning so that we may ascend the pass as early as possible to enjoy the greatest views. Both valleys, as well as Rata Pahar and Uki Pahar, as well as Mount Kagbhushand, Mount Nilgiri, and the various peaks that make up the Kamet massif, are visible to us. Commence your descent in order to get at the glacier's base in time for lunch. Continue your trek for a few more hours in order to find an appropriate camping spot. This valley is known as the Amrit Ganga valley, and one may descend all the way to Ghamsali hamlet, which is connected to the isolated Niti village and the town of Joshimath.

  • Day 7- From north base to bankund GI camp

Following breakfast, we will begin the day by taking in the breathtaking scenery all around us. Soon after that, we shall make our way over the Nilgiri Glacier confluence. After moving forward for one km, the path makes a sharp bend to the left in the direction of the south-west, directly opposite the glacier that is descending from the Deovan plateau. You will need to go through the major portion of the Bankund Glacier in order to reach the genuine left bank. After travelling a few km to the north, you will arrive at the Bankund Glacier Camping Ground. Camping

  • Day 8- From Bankund Gl. Camp to Bankund bend camp

This route to Bankund bend camp takes you through moraine and glacier and includes a number of steep ascents and descents.

  • Day 9- From Bankund bend Camp to Garh Camp

To get to the Garh camping place, go in a northwesterly direction for a few km and follow the ridge. This is the location from where Gupt Khal, also known as The Secret Pass, may be seen. It is situated close to the terminus of the Bankund Glacier. Lunch served hot. The squad gets enough of rest in order to prepare itself ready for the Pass. The advance crew will go out and conduct a reccee to determine a good route to the Pass as well as the potential location for the advance base camp.

  • Day 10- From Garh Camp to Gupt Khal

In order to get to the southern flank of Mana Parvat, the path continues over a medial moraine ridge. You may reach the location right opposite the Gupt Khal by following the ridge bottom straight west until you reach it. The advance party will go out to recon and repair the rope (if it has to be done) in preparation for the attempt on the pass the following day. Camping

  • Day 11- Rest day or extra day

A day to prepare for adverse weather and get used to the conditions. Camping.

  • Day 12- From Gupt Khal Base to Gupt Khal Expedition to Upper Nakthani Camp

Get an early start at 6:00 in the morning and begin the ascent to the Guptkhal peak at 5760 metres. This is the highest point that we have reached on our journey. Take some time to savour the most memorable parts of our walk. From the highest point, we get a panoramic view of several mountains, including the Kamet and Mana massifs, Mandir Parvat and Saraswati Valley, and the expansive Bankund Glacier. Begin your descend as soon as possible to protect yourself from the high winds, and start walking to traverse the extensive snowfield to the north-northwest of the pass. Establish a base camp near the Upper Nakthani glacier.

  • Day 13- From Upper Nakthani Camp to Nakthani snout camp

Descend down a crevasse-riddled glacier until you reach the terminus of the Nakthani glacier.

  • Day 14- From Nakthani snout camp to Badrinath

As we travel through the valley of the Saraswati River, our day will begin with a heart full of delight. After you've crossed the river and found the Army route, you can begin the descent to Badrinath. Get to Mana Village in time for a sizzling lunch. Visit Vyas and Ganesh Gufa while you're on your way. We shall arrive in Badrinath after a little car ride. Staying at a hotel and taking use of the plush beds is highly recommended. A go to the Shri Badrinath ji temple in the evening. After dinner, we stayed at the hotel.

  • Day 15- Travel from Badrinath to Rishikesh

Following the morning Darshan and Puja, we will have breakfast, and then we will embark on the lengthy journey to Rishikesh. Stay at the hotel.

  • Day 16: Transfer to the Jolly Grant Airport or the Haridwar Railway Station in the early morning.

    The trip is over.
