Itinerary Details

  • Day 1 - Drive from Dehradun To Sankri

From the Yamuna valley to the Tonnes valley, through the Yamuna bridge, to Nainbagh, Nowgaon, Purola, Jarmola (Jarmola is one of the largest and most magnificent pine woods in Asia), Mori, and Netwar. Trek to a little market in Sankri where a few wooden huts sell cuisine that is both straightforward and delectable. The camp provided both dinner and lodging for the night.

  • Day 2 - Trek from Sankri To Taluka to Seema

After you've had breakfast, you should start your hike. There's going to be a gorgeous forest along the road, and it seems like animals are thriving in this area. Near Puani Garaat, it is possible to see families of langoors. A few of the other species you could see are barasinghas, black bears, and wild boars. If you're fortunate, you might even see a barasingha. Golden eagles and enormous Himalayan gryphons both call this region of the world home. The vibrant Himalayan monal, which is the state bird of Uttarakhand, may often be seen thriving in the woods of this area. Sankri and Taluka are both connected by a route that requires four-wheel drive to traverse. Depending on the state of the road, you may be able to do this by renting a jeep locally. Because of the risk of landslides on this road, it is often blocked during the monsoon season. The path that leads to Taluka is almost flat and winds around 10 or 11 sharp mountain curves. On the journey, there are three significant streams that nearly completely cover the roadway in water at various points. The walk offers beautiful views as it passes through areas with bamboo, chestnut and cedar (deodar) trees as well as wild flowers and irises. A camping spot next to a creek may be found about 2 km before reaching Taluka. If there isn't enough time to travel to Puani Garaat, i.e. if you don't have enough time, you may camp here instead. .
